1. Scope

This Acceptable Use Policy (the “Policy”) governs everyone who accesses the Well Ops platform and its portals (the “Services”), including Customer administrators, Authorized Users, and external Owner and Vendor Portal users. It is incorporated into, and capitalized terms have the meanings given in, our Terms of Service. Violating this Policy may result in suspension or termination as described in Section 9.

2. Prohibited Conduct

You may not use the Services to:

  • Violate any applicable law or regulation, or facilitate illegal activity;
  • Infringe or misappropriate the intellectual property, privacy, or other rights of any person;
  • Access data, accounts, or systems you are not authorized to access, or exceed your authorized access;
  • Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation with a person or entity;
  • Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Services or the data they contain; or
  • Circumvent, disable, or attempt to defeat any usage limits, metering, billing, or access controls.
3. Prohibited Content

You may not submit, store, or transmit content through the Services that is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, or that you do not have the right to submit; that contains malware or malicious code; or that includes another party’s confidential or personal information without authorization. You are responsible for the content you submit and for having the rights and consents needed to submit it.

4. Security & System Integrity

You may not:

  • Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Services, or breach or circumvent security or authentication measures, except with our prior written authorization;
  • Introduce viruses, worms, or other harmful code, or launch denial-of-service or similar attacks;
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Services, or attempt to derive source code, except to the extent this restriction is prohibited by law;
  • Use robots, spiders, scrapers, or other automated means to access or extract data except through interfaces we provide for that purpose; or
  • Share, resell, or provide access to the Services to unauthorized third parties.
5. Messaging, SMS & Email

If you use the Services to send SMS/text or email — for example, to field crews, mineral and royalty owners, or vendors — you are responsible for obtaining all legally required consents and for complying with the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), the CAN-SPAM Act, and similar laws. You must only message recipients you are authorized to contact, honor opt-out (STOP) and unsubscribe requests promptly, and not send unsolicited bulk or deceptive messages through the Services.

6. Data & Public-Records Use

Public-records and land-intelligence data made available through the Services is provided for your internal business use and may be incomplete, delayed, or inaccurate. You may not use it in violation of the source’s terms or applicable law, and you must independently verify it before relying on it. You may not use the Services or the data within them to compile or sell a competing dataset, or in a manner that violates the privacy or contractual rights of others.

7. AI Use

You may not use AI Features to generate unlawful, infringing, or deceptive content, to attempt to reverse engineer or extract underlying models, or to circumvent usage metering or spend controls. AI outputs are informational and must be reviewed by a qualified person before you rely on them, as described in the Terms of Service.

8. Fair Use & Resource Limits

You must use the Services in a manner consistent with their intended use and any published limits. We may apply reasonable rate limits, quotas, or other technical measures to protect the Services and other customers, and may investigate usage that we reasonably believe is excessive, abusive, or automated in violation of this Policy.

9. Enforcement

We may investigate suspected violations of this Policy and may remove or disable content, throttle usage, or suspend or terminate access — with or without notice depending on the severity — as further described in the Terms of Service. We may also report activity to law enforcement where appropriate.

10. Reporting & Contact

To report a suspected violation of this Policy, or a security issue, contact us at security@wellreports.io (security matters) or support@wellreports.io.
